It was announced this morning on The View that for the first time in the history of Thor, and the history of comic books, that the mighty hammer known as Mjolnir, will he held and used by a woman.
This is major news in the equality community. The book of Thor has always been centered around a male character, and there have been few times that the Mighty Mjolnir was carried by someone besides Thor. There have been several speculations to who might carry the hammer, could it be Thor Girl created by Dan Jurgens? Or could it possibly be related to the events of Original Sin, with the news that Angela is the sister of Thor and Loki, could this mean she might be found worthy to wield the hammer?
What does this mean for Thor: God Of Thunder by Jason Aaron and Esad Ribic? Does this mean the book is coming to an end or, have we seen a great mistake by Thor to cause him to be found unworthy? We don’t necessarily have those answers yet, but we will keep you posted on all Thor related news. If you have any fan speculation, we would love to hear it in the comments section.
