It’s being reported that Thomas Kretschmann has signed on to play Baron Von Strucker in Avengers: Age of Ultron.

Baron von Strucker is a HYDRA leader, under The Red Skull, so this obviously suggests that we’ll see the return of the villainous organization.
Kretschmann actually has a previously existing Marvel connection, as he had a small part in 2002’s Blade II. Blade, as you probably already know, is a Marvel comics character.
Honestly, this is probably the most logical casting we’ve heard from Marvel lately. I’ve been watching NBC’s Dracula, that Kretschmann plays Abraham van Helsing in, and it’s great. He’s great. I’m actually really excited about seeing his take on Stucker.
