Even though we all knew this was happening, Marvel has OFFICIALLY confirmed that Vin Diesel will in fact be the voice of Groot in their live-action Guardians of the Galaxy film.

Vin joins an already impressive cast bringing the characters to life. Some people have voiced concern over whether or not this flick can have the impact Marvel is betting on. Is it risky to produce a major budget Sci-Fi flick with characters that most people aren’t real acquainted with? Yes.
Is it also a potential imesurable success? Yes.
Director James Gunn is (in my mostly worthless opinion) one of the best filmmakers working today, and I have complete faith in the guy that he’ll make the best possible movie he can.
