Marvel and Netflix Team Up For Defenders Live-Action Shows

It has just been announced that Marvel and Netflix have signed a contract that will see live-action series of Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Iron Fist, and Luke (muthaf—in!) Cage premeire on the streaming service in 2015. Theses shows will culminate at a live-action mini-series of The Defenders, which in the comics most of these characters have been apart of.

Now comes the fan casting…

For my money, Eliza Dushku (Buffy, Tru Calling, Wrong Turn) would be perfect for Jessica Jones. She’s proven she can do tough action roles, and she’d likable.

Iron Fist (Danny Rand) is a tad tougher to figure out, but I’m gonna say Garrett Hedlund (Friday Night Lights, TRON: Legacy). I think if the dude got into some serious martial arts training NOW, he’d be ready to roll by the time they start filming.

Luke Cage, hands down, I’m going with Terry Crews (The Expendables, Brooklyn Nine-Nine). I know they probably want someone younger, but I just think the dude is perfect. Sure, he’s mostly known for doing comedy projects, but he can definately pull off action roles and be damn intimidating while he’s at it.

Lastly, Matt Murdoock… The Man Without Fear… Who could pull off that character ass brilliantly as Battfleck did? No one. That’s who. But for the hell of it, I’m gonna fan-cast Michael C. Hall. He was the first choice by many way back a couple years ago when a new Daredevil project was being worked on, but that’s because HE’S PERFECT. You need Matt Murdock to be a strong, tortured leader, and MCH (move over NPH) can do that. Again, they’ll probably go with someone younger, but this is who I’d like to see.
